Top Communication Apps on Android in Oceania: Q3 2025

In the third quarter of 2025, the performance of top communication apps on the Android platform in Oceania showcased interesting trends. According to data from Sensor Tower, these apps demonstrated varying patterns in downloads, revenue, and active users.

Messenger by Meta Platforms, Inc. experienced fluctuations in weekly downloads, starting at around 42K and dipping to about 31K by early August before recovering to nearly 45K at the end of September. Revenue saw a gradual decline initially, reaching approximately $404, peaking at around $719 by the end of the quarter. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 6.9M to 7M throughout the period.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a steady increase in weekly downloads from 33K to about 45K by mid-September. Active users also showed a consistent rise, starting from 7.1M and peaking at approximately 7.4M towards the end of the quarter.

Snapchat from Snap Inc. saw a stable revenue increase, culminating at about $69K by the end of September. Downloads began at 18K, briefly dipped, and then stabilized at around 19K. Active users fluctuated slightly, ending the quarter at roughly 1.7M.

Telegram saw a notable increase in revenue, climbing to approximately $30K by the end of the quarter. Downloads showed minor fluctuations, starting at 16K and ending around 17K. Active users remained steady, close to 1M throughout the quarter.

Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out by Discord Inc. exhibited a steady revenue increase, reaching around $44K by late September. Downloads remained relatively stable, fluctuating slightly around 15K. Active users showed minor variations, peaking at about 940K mid-quarter.
